William Linger Sr.

William J. Linger Sr., 89 of Beaver, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in Providence Care Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 23, 1936, in Horner, WV, son of the late Homer and Helen (Frona) Louise Smith Linger.  He was a US Army Veteran serving as a combat medic in Germany during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his 2 sons Robert (Janet) Linger, William (Janet) Linger Jr., 2 grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his loving wife, Virginia Linger and his sister Helen Gregory.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3-7 P.M. in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, PA, from where a blessing service will be conducted Wednesday at 9:30 A.M.  Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors.
