Thelma Catherine Prokopovich, 91, of Baden fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, May 29, 2023. She was born on September 4, 1931, in Pittsburgh, to the late Thomas and Othelia (Gorius) Barry. She worked in the house keeping department at Sewickley Valley Hospital and was a member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Andy Prokopovich, five siblings, Lorraine Barry, Tom Barry, Robert Barry, Paul Barry, and Irene Eppinger, son-in-law, Tom McKernan and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Prokopovich. Surviving are her six children, Deacon Mark (Tracy) Prokopovich of Baden, Joyce Cahill of Columbus, OH, Gayle McKernan of Beaver, Karen Rudolph of Baden, Robert Prokopovich of Ambridge and Paul Prokopovich of Virginia, brother, Don (Joanne) Barry of Freemont, OH, two special friends Delbert Young and Gene Mazzetti. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where a Panachyda service will be held Friday at 9:30 AM followed by a church service at 10 AM in SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church with her pastor Father Michael Polosky officiating. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. A Parastas service will be held Thursday evening at 7 PM in the funeral home.
