Obituary

Steve Vukmirovich, 92, of Center Twp., passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian. He was born on May 31, 1930 in Leetsdale, to the late Michael and Kata (Zelenic) Vukmirovich. He was a retired steelworker for the former Jones and Laughlin Steel Corporation, Aliquippa Works. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, Carolyn (Cunningham) Vukmirovich, 4 siblings, Rudy Vukmirovich, Violet (Luby) Ermi, Mitzi Kretzler and Ann Wessels. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Stephanie Vukmirovich of Darlington, Jennifer Cope of Calcutta , OH, Erica Kuzma of Darlington, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a special niece, Christine Ermi-Pager of Center Twp. At Steve's request, there was no public visitation and services were private. Anyone wishing to attend the burial service are ask to meet on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 11:45 AM at the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where his funeral procession will leave promptly at Noon. Burial with full military honors will take place at 1 PM in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
