Stella Hrycyk, 93, of New Sewickley, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Concordia Villa St. Joseph. She was born on November 1, 1928 in Ambridge, to the late John and Catherine (Nestor) Puchar. She was a long time member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge. Next to spending time with family, Stella's passions in life included sewing, gardening, cooking, baking, canning, bowling, and golfing. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Eugene Hrycyk, a brother, John Puchar, and three sisters, Catherine Kurywchak, Mary Puchar, and Stephanie Affeltranger. She is survived by two children, Eugene (Cindi) Hrycyk of Harmony Twp., Lorraine (Jeffrey) Blood of Cranberry Twp., five grandchildren, Brandon (Jill) Hrycyk of Portland, OR, Ashley (Jared) Grodnitzky of Reistertown, MD, Jeffrey (Courtney) Blood of Gibsonia, Connor Blood of Pittsburgh, and Lauren (Bruce) Shickora of Cranberry Twp., four great grandchildren, Owen and Everett Grodnitsky, Alyse and Penelope Blood, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 3-7 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where a Parastas service will be held at 4 PM. A Panachyda service will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by a Liturgy at 10 AM at SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church with her pastor, Father Michael Polosky officiating. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
