Rosalie (Rose) (Constanty) Gulish passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 due to Covid 19.
Rose was born in Cumbola, PA on November 11, 1930 and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Polansky) Constanty. She married her beloved husband, George, in 1953 and lost him in 2012 after 59 years of marriage. Rose retired from the Sewickley Heights Golf Club where she worked as a server for many years. Rose was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ambridge, PA. Rose was the mother of 4 children. Two died in infancy and are in Heaven. She leaves here to mourn her a son and daughter, Tom (Colleen) Gulish and Cheryl Kemena. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Thom (Katherine Baverso) Gulish, Rachael (Anthony Wertz) Gulish and Matthew Gulish, and Ashlee (Joe Battalini) Kemena and Taylor Kemena. Rose is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, Joseph and Lucy Gulish, Lily Lafaye, Benjamin Wertz-Gulish and Timothy, Hazel and Joseph Battalini. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, 2 infant sons, a son in law, Tim Kemena and 6 siblings; Edward, Joseph and Thomas Constanty, Margaret Kline, Barbara Stiefel, and Mary Darno, with whom she shared a special bond. Rose was a quiet, gentle soul who loved her family, loved to read, and who kept a spotless house. Her roast beef and stuffed cabbage were legendary and no finer could be found in the land. In recent years dementia robbed her of her memory, but not of her kind and loving heart. She greeted everyone with a smile and was kind and gracious till the end. The family would like to thank the staff of Lakeview Personal Care for their loving care of Rose in her last few years and for the spiritual care from Father Ladis Cizik and all those who prayed for her. Rose will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by those of us who had the privilege and honor of knowing and loving her. Funeral arrangements are private. Arrangements were entrusted to the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Alzheimers Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601. act.alz.org
