Robert Allen Hood, 82, of Economy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 11, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 19, 1938 in Sewickley, to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Reithmiller) Hood. He was a graduate of Ambridge High School and a life long resident of Economy Borough. Robert was a member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyeterian Church, Marshall Twp. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. His strong work ethic carried him throughout his life. He was a long haul steel truck driver, worked for Armco Steel, Economy Septic, and worked the family farm. His passion in life was spending time with family and friends. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was a son Jeffrey Hood. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Esther (Dziabiak) Hood, a son and daughter-in- law, Tim and Stephanie Hood, and his most precious granddaughter, Emily. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 3-7 PM and Thursday from 9 AM til time of funeral service at 11 AM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. His pastor, the Rev. Stephen Hodges will officiate. Interment with full military honors provided by the Beaver County Special Unit and the US Air Force will follow at 12:15 PM in Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dana and Kelly of Family Hospice for their devoted care of their loved one.
