Richard W. Schrenk

Richard W. Schrenk, 86, of Economy, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023, in Concordia Villa St. Joseph. He was born on August 16, 1936, in West Seneca, New York to the late Robert and Evelyn "Penney" (Lang) Schrenk.  He worked for Norfolk and Southern Railroad from 1995 to 2003. Richard was a member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, Ambridge.  His passions in life included trains, fishing, yard sales, antique shops and gardening.  Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were a grandson, Travis and a brother, Robert D. Schrenk.  He is survived by his wife, Janis (Pawlack) Schrenk, three daughters, Sarah Joy LaDue of Watertown, NY, Veronica (Dave) Hoock of Tonawanda, NY, Theresa (Timothy) Pasinski of Buffalo, New York, two sons, Michael (Charlene) Schrenk of Buffalo, NY, David (Linda) Schrenk of Jacksonville, FL, 14 grandchildren, Alecia, Hannah, Kathryn, David, Jr., Aaron, Raven, Evaning, Emilie, Arabella, Jonathan and Jordan, Autumn, Arielle and Jesse, sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Evan Ross of Orchard Park, NY. Friends will be received on Thursday from 4 until time of Parastas service at 7:30 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Translation of the body will follow at 8 PM to Holy Ghost Orthodox Church. Family and friends will meet Friday at 9:30 AM at the church where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM with his pastor, The Very Rev. William J. Evansky officiating. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.
