Richard W. Ray, Sr., 70, of Economy, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. He was born on September 8, 1950 in Sewickley, to the late William T. and Mable Virginia (White) Ray. After working at Phoenix Glass, he worked 40 plus years as an over the road truck driver. In retirement, Rich drove a school van for transit taking special passengers to DT Watson Home. He was a lifelong hunter and fisherman and an avid car enthusiast. He enjoyed taking his classic Corvette to car shows. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Debbie (Moore) Ray, two children, Tanya (Matthew) Hilliard of Center Twp. and Richard (Linda) Ray, Jr. of California, two grandchildren, Joseph and Isabella Ray, a brother, Ron Ray of Bessemer, and several beloved nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-5 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, from where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11 A.M. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Reformed Church Cemetery, Zelienople. The family would like to thank the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice and Home Instead for the compassionate care extended to Richard.
