Paul M. Furis, 78, of Economy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 18, 2021 in Good Samaritan Hospice House, Marshall Twp. He was born on July 26, 1942 in Sewickley to the late Paul and Mary (Lesak) Furis. He was a retired accountant for the Holy Family Institute. Paul was a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Ambridge, Polish Falcons, Baden Legion, and the former Ambridge Country Club. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy on the USS Enterprise during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Penelope (Cain) Furis, three children, Paul (Lisa) Furis of Baden, Cindy (Bryan) Mikush of Harmony Twp., Chris Furis of Economy, two grandchildren, Deva Furis (Ryan Cross) of Lisbon, OH and Trenton Furis of Baden, two sisters, Dianna (Michael) Slavich of California, Mary Louise Phillips of Beaver Falls, and his beloved four legged companion, Ginger. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 3 to 7 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge from where prayers will be offered on Thursday at 9:30 AM followed by a Divine Liturgy for the repose of his soul at 10:00 AM in St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment with full military honors will follow at 11:30 AM in Economy Cemetery. Parastas services will be held Wednesday at 6 PM in the funeral home.
