Olga Kost, 95, a lifelong resident of Leetsdale, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023. She was born on November 9, 1928, in the family home in Leetsdale. She retired as a post office clerk at the Leetsdale Post Office and was a faithful member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge. Loved dearly, Aunt Olga was like a second mom to her many nieces and nephews, lighting up a room with her warmth and smile. A diehard Steelers fan, she kept close track of the team and would share her thoughts on their trials and triumphs with family and friends. Olga loved hosting family and friends for many of their games, waving a Terrible Towel and enjoying the excitement. In her youth, she loved to travel and through much of her adult life enjoyed corresponding with relatives in Ukraine. She played a central role in the care of her parents and siblings, passing on family stories. She enjoyed sharing stories about them during family visits to Leetsdale. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her sister and brother-in-law, Estelle and Andrew Seckers, sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Marty Macura, and brothers, Stanley, William and Michael Kost. She is survived by her much-loved nieces and nephews, including David (Patricia) Seckers, James (Marie) Seckers, Nancy Pal, Marianne Seckers, Linda (Andrew) Consolo, Kathy Rudd, Peggy (Richard) Mathieson and a host of great nieces and nephews and friends. Friends will be received on Thursday from 6-8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where a Panahyda service will be held Friday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 AM at SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church with her pastor, Father Michael Polosky officiating.
