Mona Lovy

Mona Lovy, age 84, of Cranberry Twp., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 16, 1937 in Hinton (Summers County) WV to the late Donald and Eleanor (Williams) Foster.  Mona's ambition and desire to succeed in her career with JC Penney allowed her to reach the pinnacle as portfolio president. Although work was important to her, her main passion in life was spending time with her family. She served as the matriarch, opening her doors with love for family gatherings. Celebrating holidays was very important and special to her. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her longtime companion and friend, George E. Lovy, a beloved son, JR Lovy, and a sister, Betty J. Cochran. She leaves behind her three daughters, Catherine (Frank) Snyder of Harrisburg, Elizabeth (James) Kcehowski of Conway, Tamra (John) Rosa of Conway, her extended family, Ed Lovy of Conway, Eric Lovy and Bobbi Elmer all of New Sewickley, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Dr. Ambridge where prayers will be offered on Wednesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Felix Catholic Church, Freedom. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Freedom.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The Alzheimers Association, Greater Pittsburgh Chapter, 2835 East Carson Street, Suite 200 Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
