Michael Yagercik Obituary

Michael J. Yagercik, age 70, of Economy Borough, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 2, 1952 in Sewickley, to the late Michael J. Yagercik, Jr. and Jean P. (Kozlowski) Yagercik of Aliquippa.  He was a 1970 graduate of Aliquippa High School. Michael served as president of the Teamsters Local Union No. 341 and was a member of the Teamsters Joint Council No. 40. Following his retirement from the Teamsters, he was most recently employed as a Mediator with the Bureau of Mediation with the PA Department of Labor and Industry. He was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, Good Samaritan Catholic Church, Ambridge. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was a sister, Mary Anne Grossi of Monaca. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Catherine M. (Pastine) Yagercik, daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Michael A. Bradley III of Economy, son and daughter-in-law, Michael F. and Sarah Yagercik of Harmony Twp., granddaughter, Anastasia L. Yagercik, sisters, Margaret (Bernie) Gaydos of St. Petersburg, FL, Jean Van Evera of Tampa, FL, brothers-in-law, Ronald Grossi of Monaca, Frank (Trudi) Pastine of Lutz, FL, John Medved of Center Twp., several beloved nieces and nephews and many cherished friends. Michael was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved riding motorcycles and enjoying a fine cigar with his English bull dog Vinny who was always by his side. He cherished spending time with family,  especially his beloved granddaughter Ana who brought him joy everyday. Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-5 PM  in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where prayers will be offered on Monday at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, Good Samaritan Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
