Michael Hrycyk

Michael Hrycyk, age 98, of Greensburg, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born February 25, 1925, in Michniowiec, Ukraine, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Kathryn (Asafaylo) Hrycyk. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge, where he was married, worshiped and served since 1949. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, Olga (Smolnery) Hrycyk, half-brother, Charles Hrycyk and half-sister, Kathryn both formerly of Ukraine. Surviving him are his daughter, Anastasia "Stacy" (Eliot) Moore with whom he resided in Greensburg, granddaughter, Ava Moore and several nieces and nephews living both in the United States and in Ukraine. Friends and family will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where a Panachyda service will be held Friday at Noon followed by a church service at 12:30 PM in Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church with his pastor, Father Michael Polosky officiating. Interment will follow in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. A Parastas service will be held Thursday at 2:30 PM in the funeral home.
