Mary Macurak

Mary (Marie) Macurak Formerly of Harmony Township Mary (Marie) Macurak, 93, formerly of Harmony Twp., passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2018, in Overlook Green Senior Living, Whitehall. She was born May 11, 1925, in Ambridge, Pa., to the late Waclaw and Antonina Wojcik Sulkowski. She was a faithful member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge. Mary's passions in life were camping, fishing, cooking, and playing bingo. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, John Macurak; three brothers, Chester, Stanley, and Bill Sulkowski; and three sisters, Stella Rykaczewski, Josephine Macurak, and Genevieve Wittuck. Surviving are her four sons, John J. (Elaine) Macurak of Fair Oaks, Rich (Cathy) Macurak of Mechanicsburg, Robert Macurak of Harmony Twp., and Jerry (Barb) Macurak of Center Twp.; three grandsons, Evan, Justin and Andrew Macurak; a great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Macurak; a brother, Ted (Barb) Sulkowski of Economy; and numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. A Parastas service will be held at 4 p.m. A Panachyda service will be conducted Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. in SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. Her pastor, Father Michael S. Polosky, will officiate. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Three-Sixty-Five Hospice and Overlook Green Senior Living for the compassionate care extended to Mary while under their care.
