Mary Elizabeth "Cookie" (Zyvith) Kedzierski, of New Sewickley Township, formerly of Economy Borough and New Alexandria, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at the age of 83 due to natural causes. Born in Bovard, PA, Westmoreland County on February 17, 1937, she was the only child of the late Walter and Sophie (Balik) Zyvith. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her Polish love Chester " Chay" Kedzierski (July 22, 1998). Cookie was immensely proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed Polka dancing with her late husband, Chay. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Palitti and Donna Copfer. Also surviving is one grandaughter, Jessica Palitti, and two very precious great-granddaughters, Adrianne Schubert and Corinne Schubert, the loves and joy of Cookie's life! She was a member of Good Samaritan Parish in Ambridge. It takes a special kind of person to assist in taking on the burden of a family's pain when a loved one is slipping away. Those individuals' gifts of assistance with both physical and emotional strength do not go unnoticed. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Amedisys Hospice, the office of Dr. James Wagner, paramedics, and Syka Funeral Home, who provided immense compassion while guiding Cookie and her family through this process with love and patience. Due to the current health and safety concerns, services and entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to: Good Samaritan Parish, 725 Glenwood Avenue, Ambridge, PA 15003.
