Louise Dixon Obituary

Louise P. Dixon of Bell Acres Boro, passed away at her home on her 84th birthday surrounded by her family.  She was born on December 16, 1936 in Ambridge, PA to the late John A & Mary Kohut.  Louise graduated in 1954 from Ambridge High School.  Louise was the manager and operator of Maudie’s Ice Cream Stand.  She also worked for Ambridge Auto Parts, Sewickley Golf Club, The Sheraton Inn Pittsburgh North, and she was employed as an Assistant Manager at the Dollar Tree.  She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Eugene (MaryAnn) Kohut and her loving son David Dixon.  Louise is survived by her five loving children.  A daughter Diane and grandson Logan Bell with whom she resided and her loving canine companion Kola.  She is also survived by her daughters Denise (Mike) Reese, Beaver; Debbie (John) Steiner, Powell, OH; her sons Dennis (Janet) Dixon, Roanoke, TX; Doug (Pam) Dixon, Ambridge; and adopted son, Brente (Marie) Blosser, Imperial.  Louise leaves behind to cherish her memory and carry on her traditions, her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Munzek, Freedom; Valerie (Josh) Simon, Freedom; Brian (Tiffany) Valles, Freedom; Jeremy (Tracy) Valles, Freedom; Tony (Jamie) Steiner, Springhill, TN; Nichole (Zac) Ober, Cincinnati, OH; Benjamin (Morgan) Steiner, Thompsons Station, TN; Michael (Amanda) Steiner, Westerville, OH; Claire (Austin) Dixon, Grapevine Texas.  In addition to her grandchildren, she is also survived by 23 great grandchildren and a great granddaughter due in May.  Louise enjoyed rooting for her Pittsburgh sports teams and especially enjoyed the Steeler and Penguin hockey games, she always made sure to wear her black and gold.  She liked feeding the birds, building puzzles, bowling, taking regular trips to the casinos, and traveling.  She most loved her trips to Myrtle Beach, SC where she enjoyed collecting sharks’ teeth.  She was very loved and will be missed by family and friends.  The family asks that donations if desired, be made to: Good Samaritan Hospice c/o Concordia Lutheran Ministries 134 Marwood Rd Cabot, PA 16023 giving@concordialm.org or The National Canine Cancer Foundation at www.wearethecure.org 13835 N Tatum Blvd. Suite 9-448 Phoenix, AZ 85032 or the ASPCA www.aspca.org.  At Louise’s request, there was no public visitation.  Funeral services and interment were private.  Arrangements were entrusted to the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Dr. Ambridge, PA.
