Leah R. Lane

Leah R. Lane, 79, of Economy, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, in Good Samaritan Hospice House, Marshall Twp. She was born on July 2, 1942, in Economy to the late Fred and Betty (Lias) Malins. She worked as a convenience store clerk for many years and was a long-time member of Shannopin Methodist Church, South Heights. Her hobbies and passions in life included quilting, reading, traveling, camping and serving the role of " Cool Grams" to her 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was the founding member, and CEO of " The Best Mother in the World Organization" and a member and former member of the Economy Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were a son, F. David McCrory and a sister, Cheryl Welsh. She is survived by her husband off 55 years, William R. Lane, three children, Nettie (Don) Hagy of Chippewa, Gina (Cheesy) Harry of Stoneboro, PA, William R. " Billy" (Val) Lane, Jr. of Bell Acres, grandchildren, Jessica, Jimmy, Brandon, Tori and Ashleigh and eight great grandchildren, a brother, Fred (Jacquie) Malins of Economy and numerous nieces and nephews. There was no public visitation. A private funeral service was held on Tuesday in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Dr. Ambridge. Private interment was in Economy Cemetery.
