Laura A. Kerr, of Ambridge, departed this life to be with the Lord on May 16, 2021 at the age of 83. She was born on February 14, 1938 in Ambridge, to the late Louis Joseph Hermesman and Ella Ray (Mauchline) Hermesman. Laura attended Ambridge High School and had worked as a telephone operator, bookkeeper, and cashier. She was a talented pianist and had a lifelong interest in scripture, science, history, and current affairs. Laura's love of the Lord touched many lives. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was a son, James Gary Kerr and two brothers, Louis and John Hermesman. Laura was joined in matrimony with Gary Kerr for 62 years. To this union four children were born. Laura leaves behind to cherish her memories; husband Gary Kerr, children, Deborah Funk of Butler, Elizabeth Kerr and Edward Kerr both of Ambridge, sisters, Jane Croom and Ruth Witkowski, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at noon in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. The Rev. Mike Santistevan, pastor of the Crossway Community Church will officiate. Private interment will follow in Highwood Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
