Kyle E. Steranka, 67, of Ross Township, died Monday, December 16, 2019. He was born May 26, 1952 in Pittsburgh, to the late Thomas and Jessica (Wag) Steranka. He was a custodian for the North Allegheny School District. Kyle was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ambridge where he served on the board of trustees. He was also a lifelong member of the Berkley Hills Fire Department and a member of the Gold Wing Motorcycles Association. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Karen " Susie" (Cottage) Steranka, siblings, Tom Steranka of Colorado, William Steranka of Massachusetts, Jay Steranka of Pennsylvania and Bobette Rohanna of Arizona, brother-in-laws, Louis Cottage of Freedom, Terry Cottage of Beaver, sister-in-law, Gloria Diltz and George Archer of Ohioville, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Sherry Cottage of Ohioville, brother-in-law, Al Shields of Maryland, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was a sister, Madeline " Maddy" Shields and a brother-in-law, Bruce Cottage. At Kyle's request there will no public visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 9:00 AM in St. John's Lutheran Church, 1320 Church Street Ambridge. His pastor, the Rev. Jason Coley will officiate. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. Interment with full military honors will take place immediately following the luncheon in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
