Karen (DiNinno) Lang

Karen DiNinno Lang, 66, of Ambridge, passed from this world on March 14, 2022, after a long and difficult battle with ovarian cancer. She died at home with her mom and sister by her side.
Karen was born on May 31,1955 in Sewickley, daughter to Dorothy and Ercole DiNinno. She graduated from Ambridge High, Class of 1973, and from Penn State Beaver. She retired from Pitt after over 30 years of service in the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, and spent most of her adult life living in Imperial PA.
Karen loved all animals, especially cats, many of whom brought her joy throughout her lifetime. She was also a nature lover and bird watcher, and she participated as a peregrine falcon observer for many years. She was a devoted Penn State and Pittsburgh sports fan, and enjoyed watching (and yelling at) her favorite teams.
Karen had an incredible memory, sarcastic wit, and an unbelievable knowledge of history, pop culture, and music of all kinds. She was a generous and kind-hearted soul, and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy DiNinno (Ambridge); sister, Kim (Ron) Barnes (Wysox PA) and niece Meredith (Ed) Fetterman (Murfreesboro TN).
Special thanks to family and friends who provided incredible support throughout this journey, to special helper Cindy, and to the caring team at AHN Hospice, especially nurses Lauren and Kathleen. A private memorial service was held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. Ambridge.
