Joni Elizabeth Charlton

Joni Elizabeth Charlton, 57, of Ambridge, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 22, 2023, in the Meadville Medical Center Emergency Room.  She was born on November 13, 1965, in Sewickley, to Max and Nancy (Bullian) Stelzig of Sewickley.  Upon graduating from Quaker Valley High School, she attended the Sewickley Valley Hospital School of Nursing graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing and became an RN. She then went on to work as a customer service representative for Mortgage Connect.  Her passion in life was doing ceramics at Ringle's Ceramics in Ambridge. Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Lawrence Jon Charlton, stepsons, Lawrence James "Larry" Charlton of Ambridge, Aaron (Jennifer) Charlton of Woodbridge, VA, brother, Col. Michael Stelzig, US Army Retired and his wife Ahr Stelzig of Thailand, niece Maiya, nephew, Sawyer, grandchildren, Lochlan James Charlton and Blake Lawrence Charlton, and cousins Dawn Renee, Amy, and Heather.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Beth Wierman will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of choice.
