John (JJ) Johnson, 91, of Harnony Twp., formerly of Ambridge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 1, 1929 in Ambridge, to the late Gust and Mary (Lima) Johnson. He was a retired foreman on the railroad crew at Armco Steel Corporation, worked as a painter and retired a second time as a school bus driver for Rhodes Transit. JJ was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Ambridge, the former Ambridge Country Club and was an avid golfer. He and his late wife Dolores enjoyed spending time in their camper in Myrtle Beach. They both enjoyed dancing under the stars and now at last enjoy dancing among the stars in heaven. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, Dolores Eve (Valentine) Johnson and a brother, Sam Johnson. He is survived by his two daughters, Denise (Richard) Carasella of Jeanette, Elizabeth (Francis) Vincent of Harmony Twp., three grandchildren, Dianne (Ryan) Kammerer of Greensburg, Joseph (Kristi) Musgrove of Indianapolis, IN, Anthony (Alexa) Vincent of Economy, five great grandchildren, Holden, Ethan, and Aiden Kammerer, and Chase and Avery Musgrove, two sisters, Isabel Niznik of Baden and Amelia Avdellas of Mechanicsburg, PA, a brother, James Johnson of Baden and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 2930 Beaver Road, Ambridge officiated by his pastor, Father Anastasios Athanasiuou. Interment will follow on Economy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
