John A. Dodaro, 86, of Baden, died Monday, August 30, 2021 in his home. He was born on March 14, 1935 in Ambridge, to the late Joseph and Assunta (Segretti) Dodaro. John served his country as a member of the US Army during peacetime. He worked as a steelworker for AM Byers and also at Technicolor Entertainment Industries, Los Angeles, CA. John also served as the executive director for the Redevelopment Authority of Beaver County. He was a member of The Wolves Club and enjoyed playing cards. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, Martha (Hoko) Dodaro on August 27, 2016, siblings, Eugene (Dede) Dodaro, Frank Dodaro, Evelyn Melnyk, and Jean Retzer. He is survived by a daughter, Dina (Doug) Kaleugher of Wexford, a son, John Neil and his fiance Elaine Beegle of Cranberry, five grandchildren, Doug Kaleugher, Leah and Miah Viscuso, Katrina (Danny) Contenta and Caitlyn Neil, five great grandchildren, Aliyah, Briar, Emberly, Dominic, and Aurora, a sister, Sara (Fanny) Gress of Aliquippa, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, from where prayers will be offered on Friday at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in Good Samaritan Church. Interment will be private.
