Jerome J. Novekosky, 84, former resident of Beaver County, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in Myrtle Beach, SC. His last days were spent in the company of loving family and friends.
Jerome was born March 19, 1939, the son of the late John and Stella (Leach) Novekosky. Always handy with engines, Jerome proudly served his country with the United States Army during peacetime. He worked at Ambridge Auto Parts, Dravo’s Neville Island Shipyard, and Aliquippa and Southern Railroad. Later he opened and successfully operated Novekosky’s Outdoor Power Equipment Center for 27 years, before retiring. His dedication to the small business community led him to organize outdoor power equipment dealers across the country creating the first National Association of Equipment Dealers. Jerome was an active member of St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church and passed his faith and respect for all cultures on to his family. He also passed his love of the outdoors along to his family through fishing, campfires, and stories. Jerome is survived by his wife: Sandra (Valent) Novekosky, daughters: Daria N. Adams (Donald Adams) and Adriana N. Hoag (Mark Hoag), stepdaughters: Andrea (Mikush) Werle (Heinz Werle) and Antoinette (Mikush) Diulus (Matthew Diulus), and grandchildren: Tasha Adams, Kyla Adams, and Nadia Hoag. In addition to his parents, Jerome was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna (DiSanza) Novekosky. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment with full military honors will follow in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
