Jeffrey William Cortright Sr., 63, formerly of Freedom, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. He was born on September 2, 1957 in Avalon, to the late William F. and Claire (Barnes) Cortright. He was a retired engine mechanic for Norfolk and Southern Railroad and a former member of the Economy Volunteer Fire Department. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were a brother, Stephen W. Cortright and a sister, Amy L. Cortright. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey W. (Chelsie) Cortright, Jr. of Baden, Andrew B. Cortright of Chippewa, Kristen M. (Jason) Cortright of Wakeman, OH, stepson, Kevin J. (Cassandra) Kircher Jr. of Ambridge, four grandchildren, Ella J. Cortright, Jeffrey W. Cortright III, Daniel V. Cortright and Jocelynn C. Cortright, brothers, Michael S. (Linda) Cortright of Prescott Valley, AZ, Timothy W. (Robin) Cortright of Indian Trail, NC and sister, Kathleen E. (Roy) Snyder of Prince George, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 6 until time of services at 7:30 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Dr. Ambridge. Family and friends are asked to meet Thursday at 8:15 AM at the Syka Funeral Home where the funeral procession will promptly depart at 8:30 AM to the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Washington County. Full military honors will be provided by the Brentwood VFW Post 1810 Honor Guard and the United States Marine Corps.
