James “JP” Wetzel III

James "JP" Wetzel III, 43, of Economy, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at West Penn Hospital. He was born on September 9, 1980 in Sewickley, to James P. Wetzel, Jr. and Marilew (Kaczmarczyk) Wetzel of Harmony Twp. He was employed as an accounting manager for Growing Seasons Landscaping, Canonsburg and was an active member of Valley Christian Fellowship. JP's passion in life was spending time with his children and loved attending all their sporting events. He coached baseball in Ambridge and for the Baden Legion. JP was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving in addition to his loving parents are his wife of 18 years, Rachel (Bruce) Wetzel, three children, James P.  "Pudge" Wetzel IV, Mikalah Jordan Wetzel, Colten Joshua Wetzel, a sister, Wendy (Eric) Astorino of Harmony Twp., two nephews, Damon and Jared Astorino, loving in laws, David and Karen Bruce of Chippewa, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jon and Ashley Hileman of Economy, nephews, Jack and Liam Hileman, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brendon and Blair Petersheim of Morgantown, PA, nieces and nephews, Ivy, Beckett and Declan Petersheim, an aunt Sally Wetzel of Chippewa and his loving faithful four legged companions, Champ and Rocky. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-8 PM In the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at Valley Christian Fellowship, 398 State Rt. 68, Rochester (Daugherty Twp.) where a funeral service will be held at 11AM with his Pastor, Patti Elliott officiating. Interment will follow on Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Valley Christian Fellowship, 398 State Rt. 68, Rochester, PA 15074.
