James Kazil, 92, of Ambridge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of devotion to his family. He was the youngest of four children born on April 27th, 1933, to the late Anthony Kazil and Alice (Woodham) Kazil. Preceding him in death were siblings Paul, Stanley and Irene. His beautiful bride of 69 years, Helen Kuharsky Kazil, passed in August of this year.
James served as a Sargent in the US Army Korean War. After completing his military service, James worked many years at Armco Steel Corp., where his work ethic and determination were an example to all who knew him. He never complained, never hesitated, and never backed down from doing what needed to be done to support his family.
Together, he and Helen raised three children; Donna Hoge of Ambridge; Anthony (Ginger) Kazil of Monaca and Kenneth (Rhonda) Kazil of Ambridge. Also surviving is his brother-in-law John (Michaelyn) Kuharsky; eight grandchildren: Adam (Jeanine), Danielle, James (Kylee), Toni Marie (Matthew), Kurt, Andrew (Casey), Wyatt, and Sierra; thirteen great grandchildren: Harper, Emmarie, Olive Mae, JAK, Levi, Ford, Amelia, Maelyn Marie, Noah, Jones, Cooper, Reed and Coleson.
A man of few words and fewer needs, he was often heard saying “It doesn’t get any better than this!” when he was surrounded by his loving family. He enjoyed listening to classical music, playing cards, watching the Steelers and having his 7pm glass of wine.
Friends will be received Sunday, from 1 to 3pm in the John Syka Funeral Home Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, from where a blessing service will be held Monday at 10am with Family members Ginger Kazil and Andrew Hoge officiating. Interment will follow at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to his favorite charity St Jude Children’s Hospital.
