James Gross Obituary


James E. Gross, 96, of Economy, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. He was born on November 8, 1925 in Baden, to the late Harry and Catherine (Marr) Gross. He was a retired millwright for Armco Steel Corporation and a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Conway. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.  James was an avid bowler. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, Lois (Scheppy) Gross, four brothers, Paul, Louis, Joseph and Donald Gross, two sisters, Mary Cress and Pearl Krupski, in-laws James and Anna Mae (Scalarsky) Scheppy, and brother-in-law, James Reed Scheppy.  He is survived by a brother, William Gross of Economy, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-7 PM at the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where prayers will be offered on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Sylvania Hills Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to your favorite charity of choice.
