Helen E. Ringel

Helen E. Ringel, 83, of Ambridge, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021. She was born on January 2, 1938 in Ambridge, to the late John R. Hertneky, Sr. and Helen (Jenca) Hertneky.  She was a certified nurse anesthetist having worked at Ohio Valley Hospital from 1966 to 1977 and Allegheny General Hospital from 1977 until her retirement in 2018. Helen was the owner and operator of Ringel's Ceramics in Ambridge and very actively involved in the community. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Baden where she was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mother's and worked tirelessly with the pirohi sales every week. She was a member of the Ambridge Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.  Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Frederick Ringel, Sr., and two brothers, John Hertneky and Milton B. Hertneky. She is survived by her four stepsons, Raymond Ringel of Crafton, Patrick (Mary Ann) Ringel of McKees Rocks, Frederick J. Ringel, Jr. (Denise) of McKeesport, Kenneth Ringel (Aileen) of Carnegie, six grandchildren, one great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where prayers will be offered on Friday at 11:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Baden.  Entombment will follow in the the Sewickley Cemetery Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in care of Good Samaritan Parish, 725 Glenwood Ave. Ambridge, PA. 15003.
