Helen Malnak

Helen Malnak, 91 of Hopewell Township, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Tapestry Senior Living.  She was born November 7, 1932, in Ambridge, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Palis) Manos.  Prior to marriage and children, she worked as a secretary at Ambridge High School & then, American Bridge, where she met her beloved husband Eugene.  Her passions included belonging to several card clubs, bowling and on hot summer days, you would find Helen at the Clearview Pool floating and socializing.  Although she took great joy in participating in these activities, her number one passion was spending time with her family, specifically her two granddaughters.  She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Eugene Malnak, son, Michael Malnak, daughter, Liz (Malnak) Borgschulte, son-in-law Ron Borgschulte; granddaughters, Cassandra (Tyler) Burns & Alyssa Borgschulte, great grandson, Asher Borgschulte Burns, sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Elizabeth & Richard Hoge, sister-in-law, Bonnie Malnak.  Surviving family members also include many cherished nieces, nephews, & cousins.  Preceding her in death in addition to her parents, are a brother, Michael Manos and sister, Virginia Demas.  Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge.   Additional visitation will take place Friday from 10-11 A.M. in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 2930 Beaver Road, Ambridge, where a funeral service will be held at 11 A.M., with Father John Touloumes officiating.  Interment will follow at Economy Cemetery. There will be a Celebration Of Life and luncheon held at the Fez, in Hopewell Township at 1:00 pm directly following the cemetery interment.  Helen Malnak loved well and was well loved.
