Helen “Babe” Costa

Helen "Babe" Costa, 86, of Leetsdale, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. She was born on September 21, 1935 in Carnegie, PA to the late John and Frances (Kaczmarczyk) Filipovich. She was a nurse at the former D.T. Watson Home. Babe was a a long time member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ambridge and current member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Baden. She enjoyed participating in the Friday Night Marian Prayer Group. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Dominic Costa, sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Chuck Cvitkovic, brother and sister-in-law, John and Charlotte Filipovich, and brother-in-law, Sam Becker. She is survived by a sister, Dolores Becker of Sewickley and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6-8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where prayers will be offered on Wednesday at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Cemetery.
