Helen E. Andrus

Helen E. Andrus, of Economy, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the age of 97. She was born February 23, 1926, in Binghamton, NY to the late Michael and Olena (Stefko) Evans. Helen was a long time member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, Ambridge. Next to her family and church, her passions in life were gardening, antiquing, and making pirohys. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband James Andrus and her brother, John Evans. She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Kevin) Flannery of Ambridge, Tami (Jamie) Lawing of Wexford, two sisters, Ann Evans and Mary Jane Evans, both of Ambridge, sister-in-law, Artie Andrus, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Gayle Andrus, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to meet Wednesday at Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, 210 Maplewood Ave. Ambridge where visitation will take place from 9:30 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM. Her pastor, The Very Rev. William J. Evansky will officiate. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Lutheran Church Cemetery, Economy. Memorial contributions if desired are suggested to the Holy Ghost Orthodox Church.
