George E. Semonik, Jr. age 70, a lifelong resident of Economy, died Friday, February 26, 2021 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. He was born on November 18, 1950 in Sewickley, to the late George Edward Semonik, Sr. and Theresa (Hnath) Semonik. George was a 20 year veteran of the US Army having served in the 82nd Airborne Division. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer at 37 years old. After his retirement from the Army, he attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Culinary Arts recieving the degree of Master Chef. He was an outdoorsman and was an avid hunter. Surviving are the love of his life and wife of 30 years, Emily (Sangermano) Semonik. Please keep Emily and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Also surviving are a daughter, Tracy Semonik of Camp Hill, PA, a son, Nathan Semonik of Washington State, two sisters, Joyce Dambaugh (Charlie Ferrin) of Pleasant Hills, Janice (Mark) Fidler of Manchester, New Hampshire, brother in law, Frank Sangermano of Ambridge, nieces and nephews, Scott, Gretchen, Ashley, and Michael, and two great nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday from 10:30 AM until time of funeral services at 11:30 AM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Dr. Allan Drake, pastor of Plum Creek Church will officiate. Interment with full military honors will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Washington County.
