George W. Metz, 93, of Crescent, died on Friday, September 10, 2021 in Apple Blossom Personal Care, Moon Twp. He was born on October 12, 1927 in McKees Rocks, to the late George B. and Mary Metz. He was a union carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union and the Green Valley Sportsman Club. George was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting and spending time in at his cabin in Tionesta. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during World War II. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were a daughter, Holly Rochelle Metz and a brother, Bill Metz. Surviving are his loving wife, Myrna (Morris) Metz, three sons, George (Robin) Metz of Ambridge, Gary (Merran) Metz of Raccoon Twp., Glenn (Cathy) Metz of Hookstown, eight grandchildren, Heather Metz and her husband, Jonathan Markley, Andrew Metz, Megan (Mike) Racioppo, Katelyn (Brian) Grinnink, Jessi (Mark) Charles, Jake Metz, Elizabeth and Amanda Herron, twelve great-grandchildren, Nathan and Gavin Racioppo, Chase and Emma Grinnik, Zane Charles, Ayree Metz, Bella, Hailey, Cloe and Alana Joslin, Alyssa and Waylon Phillips. Funeral services were private and private interment with full military honors took place in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements were entrusted to the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. Ambridge, PA.
