Gary Kerr, of Ambridge, departed this life to be with the Lord on September 13, 2021, at the age of 86. He was born on August 23, 1935 in Bellevue, to the late Robert Kerr and Marylee (Todd) Kerr. Gary attended Ambridge High School, then enlisted in the US Navy. Gary went on to a career as a communications technician with Bell Telephone and ATT. Gary was a talented woodworker who made many beautiful furnishings for his home, built two boats, and produced numerous pieces of custom furniture. Gary was joined in matrimony with the late Laura (Hermesman) Kerr for 62 years. Proceeding him in death in addition to his parents and wife was his son James Gary Kerr. Gary leaves behind to cherish his memories: children Deborah Funk of Butler, Edward Kerr and Elizabeth Kerr both of Ambridge, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, four sister-in-laws, and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends. Visitation will take place on Monday, from 9 AM until time of funeral services at 11 AM in the John Syka Funeral Home at 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. The Rev. Mike Santistevan, pastor of Crossway Community Church will officiate. Private interment will follow in Highwood Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
