“Una rama e cascato dalla familiglia Romano”. A branch has fallen from the Romano family tree.
Ezia Francesca (Troia) Romano, 93, of Baden, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her family, on April 2, 2022. She was born in Bagnaturo, Italy to the late Loreto and Rocca Troia. She was preceded in death by her brother Armando Troia. Ezia arrived in the United States as a young 17-year-old girl in 1948 and met the love of her life, Gino, while attending night classes to learn English. Ezia was a member of Good Samaritan Parish in Ambridge, where she loved to sing in the choir with her husband Gino. She also accompanied him on his Memory of Italy recordings, singing many Italian favorites. She was a gifted cook and loved to prepare meals for her family, especially her 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, who especially loved her Zucchini Patties. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Gino, who took wonderful care of her during her last years; her 4 children: Elizabeth (Fred) Fattore, Loretta Romano, Gene Romano, and Tina Romano; her grandchildren: Ian Cipriani, Melody (Hayes) Perdue, Ali Romano and fiancé Phil Bourque, Tori Romano, Nico Romano, Nicki (Micah) Ninteman, Joey Yarwick, Jesop Fattore, and Alexis Fattore; her great grandchildren: Nate, Sam, Anna, Kameron, John, Lydia, Ellis, Aiden, and Maddox, all of whom she absolutely adored; and her beloved grand-dog Charlie. Friends will received on Tuesday from 3-7 PM and the Christian Mothers Ladies Guild will pray the Rosary at 3 PM at the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge where prayers will be offered on Wednesday at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Good Samaritan Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum. The family is grateful for the wonderful care provided by Dawn Harris and Vitas Hospice; the loving support of neighbors, and the caring visits of close friends and relatives.
