Eugenia Kowal, formerly of Sewickley, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Wexford House Nursing Center at the age of 101. She was born on September 15, 1919 in Zolochiwka, Ukraine to the late Theodore and Maria (Surowiak) Kotowych. She was a devoted member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Ambridge where she belonged to the St. Mary's Sisterhood, UNA Lodge 161, Ambridge, and the Ukrainian Workmens Association Branch 5. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Zachary Kowal, April 11, 2004, son, The Very Rev. Protopresbyter Nestor Kowal, two brothers, Michael and John Kotowych, daughter-in-law, Pani Tamara Kowal, her granddaughter Vera's husband, Harry Krewsun. She is survived by her son, Boyd (Janet) Kowal, daughter, Helen Buckley and her companion, Robert Gabig, grandchildren, Vera Krewsun, Nestor (Heidi) Kowal, Taras (Lisa) Kowal, Erin (Biagio) Ruggiero, John Buckley and partner (Christina) Kimbler, great grandchildren, Eli and Priscilla Kowal, Benjamin and Eliza Evgenia Ruggiero, Alex and Larissa Kowal. Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Vladimir Endowment Fund, 313 Ninth Street, Ambridge, PA 15003. Arrangements were entrusted to the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive Ambridge, PA.
