Emanuel “Strut” Stratos

Emanuel “Strut” Stratos, 87, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025.  He was born in Pittsburgh, on July 1, 1938, to the late Emmanuel and Anna Stratos.

Emanuel worked as a machine operator for various metal companies. He did so for 40 years, up until his retirement. Emanuel was a big sports fan. He was a great basketball player and enjoyed watching and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Emanuel ventured to Vegas to play the slot machines, loved dancing and adored being the center of attention. He was a dedicated husband, father and Papou, and loved his family with a passion. Emanuel was known by many, loved by all, and will be missed, always.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (J.T.) Pennington, son, Michael (Melissa) Stratos; grandchildren, Colton (Payton) Gossett, Morgan (Boone) Lyons, Morgan (Kris) Cooper, Logan Pennington, Hannah (Cory) Beam, Zoe Stratos, Maddie Stratos and Keiren Bashor; great-grandchildren, Calder, Bridge and Rowan.

Emanuel is preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his loving wife, Eileen Laris Stratos, and sisters, Lucy Manos and Catherine Burt.

All are welcome to gather for a visitation on Monday, September 15th, from 4-8 PM, in the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, from where a funeral service will be held, on Tuesday, September 16th, at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Emanuel’s name are suggested to the National MS Society.
