Edward J. Hedzik, 86, of Economy, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 23, 2023, in his home. He was born on April 1, 1937, in Byersdale, to the late Joseph and Pauline (Zajac) Hedzik. He retired from the tin mill department of the former Jones and Laughlin Steel Corporation. His passions in life were riding his Harley Davidson and motorcycles, gardening, camping, and attending steam tractor shows. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, Eloise (McDaniels) Hedzik, a daughter, Julie Potts and a son, Joseph Hedzik. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Cara Hedzik of Economy, eight grandchildren, Paul, Amber, Ashlyn, and Aubrey Hedzik, Ed (Kayla) Hedzik, Regaen (Jeff) Kerr, Cherie Dreyer and Trisha Potts, seven great grandchildren, Kaylee, Jenna, Bree, Noah, Adam, Lacey, and Annabelle, a sister, Carol (Dan) Mannion of Conway, daughter-in-law, Debbie Hedzik of Economy, sister-in-law, Olga McDaniels of Patterson Twp., brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and Rick and Karen McDaniels of Coraopolis. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3 to 7 PM and Wednesday, from 11 AM until time of funeral service at 12:30 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
