Earl William Cole, 98 years young, departed this life on Thursday, July 15, 2021. He was born on December 14, 1922 in Freedom, to the late John Henry Cole and Mary Frances (Berry) Cole. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leetsdale. Earl attended Leetsdale High School. He proudly served his country as a member of United States Army during World War II, was a member of the American Legion Post 450, and its drill team. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Sewickley Community Center Bowling League. Earl retired from Alcoa Corporation as chauffeur for the CEO after many years of faithful service. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his wife, Pearl (McDonald) Cole, a brother, John D. Cole, two sisters, Rosella Whitted and Nora Yokley. He is survived by two daughters, Georgiana (Russell) Duncan of Reno, Nevada, Gwendolyn (Mark) Gibson of Pittsburgh, seven grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, a godson, Robert C. Patterson Jr., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many friends. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, from where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM with the Rev. Brian Crawl, pastor of the Second Baptist Church of Rochester officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
