Dona Jean Turnour

Dona Jean Turnour, age 87, a resident of Concordia Villa St. Joseph, formerly of Schiller St., Baden, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.  She was born on October 6, 1933 in Rochester, PA to the late Michael and Jean (Reich) Alberts.  She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Baden, where she was a member and past president of the Christian Mothers Ladies Guild, choir member, eucharistic minister, lector, and cashier at the pirohi sales.  She also served as a eucharistic minister while a resident of the Villa St. Joseph. Dona was a member and past president of the Baden Jr. and Sr. Women's Club.  Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, John Edward Turnour on February 18, 1996, a daughter, Joyce Helsing, two brothers, Kenneth Alberts, Terry Alberts, sister-in-law, Dr. Nancy Alberts, sister-in-law, Agnes (James) Arthur, and brother-in-law, Thomas (Shirley) Turnour.  She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John Edward Turnour IV and Kathy Peck Turnour of Rehoboth, MA, daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Eric Renner of Sewickley, son-in- law, Thomas Helsing of Baden, sister-in- law, Carole Alberts of Freedom, nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Joseph) Morro of MA, Erica (Gary) Nester of CT, John E. (Heather) Turnour of Washington DC, Aaron ( Kristin) Turnour of MA, Heather (Stephen) Belfi of PA, David (Emily) Renner of PA, Lauren (Cameron) Arimoto of PA, Kaitlin Renner and Hannah Renner, both of SC, and nine great grandchildren.  Friends will be received on Saturday from 9 AM until time of closing prayers at 10:30 AM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive Ambridge.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.  The family would like to thank the staff of the former Villa St. Joseph and Concordia Villa St. Joseph for the loving care extended to Dona during her 17 years of residency there.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to the Concordia Villa St. Joseph.  1020 State Street, Baden, PA 15005.
