Diane Livengood Obituary


Diane DeMailo Livengood, 68, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Baden, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous and dignified battle with cancer. She was born on March 4, 1953 in Sewickley, to the late Philip and Alfreda (Baran) DeMailo. She was a 1971 graduate of Quigley Catholic High School. She then attended Aliquippa School of Radiolgy and got her certification as an XRay technician. She received her BS degree in business administration from LaRoche College. Her working career took her to several hospitals and finally led her to Wheeling Hospital and Wheeling Radiology Associates until her retirement. Diane touched the lives of everyone she met with selfless kindness, sincerity, compassion, and willingness to help others. In the words of one of her co-workers, "You always stood up for what is right." Throughout her journey through life, Diane's main concern was the well being of everyone around her. Diane loved her job and decorating her home, but was happiest spending time with her son Zack watching movies or on a fishing adventure. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were a nephew, Michael DeMailo and a sister in law, Lucretia DeMailo. Diane is survived by her son, Zachary Livengood of Baden, three brothers, Phillip (Susan) DeMailo of Virginia, Alfred DeMailo of Michigan, Edward (Denise) DeMailo of Beaver, niece Danielle DeMailo Roberts and Toby Roberts, great niece, Channing Roberts, niece, Christy (Wayne) Crosby, great nephews, Milo and Alex Crosby, uncle and godfather Joe Baran and aunt Ann Baran of Economy, uncle Edward Baran of Ohio, Zachary's grandparents, Bill (Gig) and Betty Livengood of New Sewickley, beloved four legged faithful companion and best dog, Snookie. The family would like to thank and acknowledge the following people for their loving and compassionate care, concern, and heartfelt love during her final journey, Dr’s Mark and Diane Benson, Dr. Jondavid Pollock, Dr. Michael Sherry the Jen Bond Family, all Diane's friends and co-workers from Wheeling Hospital, childhood friend, Linda Dunn Ropon, close friend, Sue Antonini, Jack Porter, the Carroll family, and everyone who was in her life during Diane's last days. And lastly, a special thank you to Jessica and Renee of Good Samaritan Hospice for their care and guidance.  Family and friends will meet on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Our Lady of the Valley, St. Cecelia Catholic Church, 632 Virginia Avenue, Rochester, PA 15074 at 9:45 AM where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM. Sr. Parochial Vicar, Father Paul Kuppe, O.F.M. Cap. will officiate. Private interment will take place in Good Samaritan Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001.
