Deirdre Mary Manasterski

Deirdre Mary Manasterski, age 62, of Moon Township, PA passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2021. She was born on April 28, 1959 and raised in Ballyvoile, Stradbally, County Waterford, Ireland. Precious daughter of the late Kevin and Margaret Crotty (Cotter), beloved wife of Gregory W. Manasterski and loving mother of Stephanie, Matthew, Carolyn and Tara. Deirdre was the second oldest of twelve children. She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Crotty.
She is survived by sisters Bridget Drohan, Teresa (Ciaran) McDonald, Irene (Michael) Raher, and Patricia (Jack) O’Mahony of Ireland; Jo (Stephen) Murphy, Una Crotty Joyce, Rosaleen (Okan) Gursac of England; Sheila Sert of Turkey and brothers John (Yvonne) Crotty of Ireland and Patrick (Caroline) Crotty of England, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Deirdre earned her nursing degree in London, England and her BSN (nursing) and MSN (nurse practitioner) from Columbia University. She worked as a nurse and nurse practitioner at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in NYC before moving with her husband to the Pittsburgh area to start their family, where she also worked as a nurse and nurse educator.
Deirdre was a parishioner at SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge, PA. and loved singing in the church choir and participating in Bible study. She also enjoyed drawing, painting and traveling with her family. Her boundless energy and compassion will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Dr., Ambridge A Parastas will be conducted Thursday at 3:30 PM.  Prayers will be offered Friday at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by a funeral liturgy in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 404 6th Street, Ambridge at 10 AM.  In lieu of flowers family asks for contributions to the SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 404 6th Street, Ambridge, PA 15003.
