Clarence E. Gorrell, Jr., 76, of Center Township, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 in Good Samaritan Hospice of Beaver.
He was born January 20, 1943, in Bradford, PA, to the late Clarence E. Gorrell, Sr. and Iilda Rought Gorrell. After serving in the U.S Army during peacetime, he worked for St. Joe Zinc in Shippingport. Clarence later worked as a manager for the Hills Department Store in Washington, PA, Buffalo, NY, and Willoughby, OH. He was a store room manager at Hussey Copper, and was part of the golf course maintenance crew at Seven Oaks Country Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved playing cards and teaching his grandchildren how to play.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, Darlene Higley Gorrell, two infant daughters, and a infant son.
Surviving are a daughter, Tracy (Eric) Frazier, with whom he resided, a son, Edward (Donna) Gorrell of Ross Twp., four grandchildren, Hannah, Isabella and Olivia Gorrell, and Austin Frazier, two sisters, Patricia Allingham and Janice McMeans, a brother, Jack Gorrell, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday from 4:00 P.M. until time of services at 7:30 P.M. in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Interment will take place Friday, June 28th in Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. The family would like to thank the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice for the loving and compassionate care extended to Clarence while under their care. In liue of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Beaver County Cancer Society.
