Catherine A. Hladio, 70, of McCandless Twp. passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in her home. She was born on February 10, 1950 in Sewickley, to the late Michael and Nellie (Davanzo) Hladio Sr. She was a 1968 graduate of Ambidge High School and a graduate of Montifiore Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse for Presbyterian University Hospital, and furthered her career as a nurse anesthetist at Allegheny General Hospital and retired from Shadyside Hospital in 2015. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge. Catherine was an avid Pittsburgh sports enthusiast. Her passions in life after spending time with family were traveling, reading, and sking. She is survived by her two brothers, Dr. Michael (Julianne) Hladio, Jr. of McMurray, Robert (Cynthia) Hladio of Ambridge, niece, Dr. Nicole Hladio, DVM of Bridgeville, nephews, Michael (Jocelyn) Hladio of Bethel Park, Jeffrey Hladio of McMurray, Matthew Hladio of Ambridge, great nieces, Rebekah and Elizabeth Hladio and great nephew, Michael Hladio. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at Noon in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Her pastor, Father Michael Polosky will officiate. Due to the Covid-19 health restrictions and PA mandates on public gatherings, no more than 10 people including the family will permitted in the funeral home. Masks are required and social distancing must be practiced. Private interment will take place in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
