Carolyn Dennerlein, 101, formerly of Harmony Township, passed away on June 29th at Masonic Village in Sewickley.
Born December 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Pauline Hamrlik. She was the youngest of four children with two older sisters and one older brother. Carolyn graduated from Ambridge High School and received secretarial training at Duff’s Business Institute in Pittsburgh.
Carolyn married Don Dennerlein and together they had two children, Jim and Carol. She spent many years as a secretary working for A.M. Byers, H.K. Porter, and retired from the Elwin G. Smith Co. She was a very active member of her high school reunion committee, was always in a bridge club or two, and enjoyed dancing, especially to big band music.
Carolyn is predeceased by her husband, Don, her sisters, Angela Harris and Alice Forrest, her brother Steve Hamrlik, and her granddaughter, Christy Keirnan.
She is survived by her son Jim, her daughter Carol Keirnan (JF), grandson Brian Keirnan (Kristen), three great grandchildren Kane, Sutton, and Leighton, many nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Al Kowalski.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 10-11 A.M. in the Good Samaritan Catholic Church, 725 Glenwood Avenue, from where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am. A luncheon in the Parish Hall will follow the mass. Entombment will take place in the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
