Bernie J. Janicki, 78, of Ambridge, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at his long time home after a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Ann by his side. Bernie was born on June 20, 1944 in Sewickley, the only son of the late John and Josephine (Smigielski) Janicki. He retired from the former J&L and LTV Steel Corporation, Aliquippa, where he worked in the rod and wire division. He served his country in the Air National Guard, 171st Air Refueling Wing. He and Mary Ann spent every summer fishing for northern pike at Georgian Bay, Canada and boating on the Kinzua Reservoir. He was very precise in making his model airplanes. May he fly away on Eagles Wings. He was a devoted son and husband. Surviving in addition to his wife, Mary Ann (Krofchek) Janicki, are a sister-in-law, Patricia Mitro, nieces, a nephew, cousins, friends, and furry four legged companions, Libbi and Annie. As per Bernie's wishes, there was no public visitation. Services and interment were private. Mary Ann would like to thank Concordia Home Health and Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care during his final days. Arrangements were entrusted to the John Syka Funeral Home, Ambridge.
