Athena (Ethel) Kallas

Athena (Ethel) Kallas, of Fair Oaks, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 96. She was born on May 9, 1924 in the village of Vasilaki (Olympia) Greece to the late Theodoros and Haralambo Stamos. She was devout in her faith and attended Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Ambridge regularly for 65 years. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her beloved husband, Peter Kallas, her brothers, Andriko and Thanassi and her sisters, Alexandra, Loulia, and Tasia. She is survived by her devoted daughter and caregiver, Bessie Kallas (John) and son, Jimmy Kallas, brother, Vicktora Stamos, Greece, niece, Vaso Koff and several other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews in Greece and Canada. Mom enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Everyone will sorely miss the BEST Greek food she made. She traveled often to Greece, Canada, and Las Vegas and always came home a winner. Mom was like her name Athena (Goddess of Wisdom). Our mother was an anchor and guiding light. She had a witty personality and everyone enjoyed her mischievous smile. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Due to the health concerns of Covid-19, visitation and services will be private officiated by Father Anastasios Athanasiou. A memorial will follow at a later date when health conditions improve.  Memorial contributions are requested to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 2930 Beaver Road, Ambridge, PA 15003.
