Anthony "Tony" J. Berosh, Sr., 77, of Economy Borough, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 4, 2025.
He was the son of the late John and Gloria (Amig) Berosh, son in law of the late George and Katherine (Babiak) Chinchilla. Tony was predeceased by his brother John and little sister, Joanne.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Ann (Chinchilla) Berosh. He fiercely loved and was so proud of both his children, his devoted son and daughter in law, Tony and Melanie Berosh, and his adored daughter, Jennifer Berosh. Pap Pap's joy was founded in his most cherished and precious grandchildren, Kevin and Nathan Berosh. Also left to mourn his passing are his sister Linda (Dennis) Heffelfinger, his very supportive sister in law and her husband, Janet (Chinchilla) and Dan Drotar. Tony is also survived by great nieces, nephews, numerous loving and supportive cousins, amazing colleagues, and wonderful neighbors.
He was originally from Emmaus, Pennsylvania, graduated from Pennsylvania State University, Main Campus (which is where he met the love of his life), received his Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University. Tony began his career in law that spanned over 40 years, as a Law Clerk, as the first full time Assistant District Attorney, and ultimately as the District Attorney of Beaver County, making Beaver County a safer and better place to live.
During retirement, Tony volunteered his time in various civic organizations, taught courses at CCBC, and assisted with the Citizens Police Academy. These are just a "sample" of what he did with his professional retirement time. Personally, he was always the voice of reason, recanting stories, sharing laughs and lessons. Tony found the joy in simple things, taking walks, planting tomatoes and wildflowers, setting up his very intricate Christmas Train displays, and sharing trivia about so many topics, simply amazing! Most importantly was the enormous love he had and proudly showed towards Mary Ann, Jennifer, Tony, Melanie, Kevin, and Nathan. Mary Ann always agreed with Tony that he was a "pillar of knowledge, a tower of strength.”
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-6 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge.
Mass of Christian Burial and Interment will be private.
The family would like to thank Melanie Ceraso Berosh and the AHN Hospice Caregivers for the extremely compassionate care given to Tony.
