Anna (Grago) Edmunds

Anna (Grago) Edmunds, 97, a resident of Baden since 1948, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Anna was born on March 11, 1924, in Aliquippa, to the late George and Mary (Vajda) Grago. Anna graduated from Aliquippa High School on June 4, 1942. She was employed with J. C. Penny at the Northern Lights Shopping Center from its opening day in 1956 until her retirement in 1989. She became an active member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Baden in 1949. She attended study groups and participated in the church's contributions to Meals on Wheels. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband Roy Edmunds having married January 24, 1948, two brothers, Andrew and John, sisters, Mary Ivancik, Elizabeth McBride, and Irene Sampson. Anna is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Royann (Dennis) McCarthy of Apollo, a son, Daniel Edmunds of Baden, a sister, Leona Zihmer of Aliquippa, and her adored grandchildren, Matthew McCarthy of Apollo, Megan (Frank) Sanabria of Wexford, cherished great grandchildren, Kara and Angelina McCarthy of Apollo, Gabriel Sanabria of Wexford, and numerous nieces and nephews. Due to the inclement weather and the safety and health concerns surrounding Covid 19, there will be no public visitation or funeral services at the present time. Private interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held in the spring at a time and date to be announced at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church with her pastor, The Rev. Jill McGregor officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 399 State St. Baden, PA. 15005.
